Sapporo Shusei Kogyo Co., Ltd.
A true-blue Hokkaido shochu brewery that has survived turbulent times
Sapporo Shusei Kogyo opened in 1933.
The founders knew that Hokkaido’s shochu industry was undersupplied and that large quantities of potatoes and starch pulp were being thrown away due to overproduction, so they used the potatoes and starch pulp to make a shochu that would bring prosperity to Hokkaido’s agriculture industry.
After overcoming the challenges of building a factory in the snow, they completed a shochu that won the Award for Excellence at the Sake Awards just four months after the brewery opened. The pride of being a successful Hokkaido shochu brewer has seen Sapporo Shusei Kogyo through turbulent times that have pushed the shochu industry to its limits.

Kitasato Authentic Potato Shochu
A refined style that I want to enjoy again and again
This sake...before you take your first sip, there's this soft, sweet aroma.
I like it best at room temperature.
That soft aroma and mild, smooth mouthfeel will have you coming back for more.
I'm going to make something rich, like deep-fried surimi (fish paste) or tsukune (Japanese-style meatballs) and have another glass!
